Which fractions must be sorted on-site from 2027?

From 2027, all properties must be able to sort several fractions on-site.

7 fractions are minimum: Food waste, paper, plastic, metal, glass, newspapers, residual waste.

Used for biogas and compost. Greatly reduces greenhouse gases compared to landfill. Must be collected at least every week.

Paper, plastic, metal, and glass must be able to be sorted separately for optimal recycling.

Waste paper and newspapers are recycled into new paper products.

What cannot be recycled goes to energy recovery (district heating).

Many also choose textile, electronics, batteries, paint/chemicals.
